The Crew

Bruce Twyon

Captain, owner

Captain Bruce Twyon grew up in New England and spent most of his time on NH Lakes and the Atlantic Ocean. He and his family have been coming to St. John since 1996, loving it so much coming often twice per year.

Captain Bruce has more than 30 years of boating experience in and around the U.S. / British Virgin Islands, and the waters around New Hampshire.

Captain Bruce has his 100 Ton Masters License issued by the U.S. Coast Guard with many years of service to community as an EMT-I, and 28 years of service in public safety. He and his crew are eager to get you and your loved ones aboard. As beautiful as the beaches of the Virgin Islands are, there is nothing like the experience of getting out on these clear blue waters, snorkeling with incredible tropical fish and fauna, sea turtles, sting rays, octopus and the occasional dolphin or two. I don’t recommend snorkeling with whales. Humpbacks do pass through every year for a month or two.

So let us take you to far away places that you can only get to via boat! Your day will be amazing.

Captain Bruce is also helpful with any of your St. John Island needs. Dinner reservations, lodging recommendations, even booking you on any other boat you wish to charter.

Book us now and make an incredible memory that will last a lifetime!

Cheers!

Jay Rushing

Captain

Captain Jay Rushing grew up in South Texas, working on ranches and rodeoing. His parent’s home banked on the Guadalupe River and he was in the water anytime he wasn’t working. At 15 he read the book “The Dove” a true story about 16 year old, Robin Lee Graham sailing around the world single handed. This gave Jay a dream that he never lost. He started sailing a Sunfish right behind his house and now has over 30 years of sailing experience including Open Ocean and Racing. Jay is USCG 100 Ton Masters Licensed. Jay, his wife and two daughters live aboard their 46’ Antigua sailboat “Happy Ours” in Cruz Bay.

Rosie Moreland

First Mate

Rochelle “Rosie” Moreland is from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Throughout her life Rosie has been drawn to the ocean and considers herself a true Mermaid on St. John.

Rosie has lived on St. John since 2018 and has worked as a server at a local restaurant and has an accomplished cleaning company at rental villas on the side. Her passion is to be on the water full time and her commitment to service of the people around her is unmatched. As a First Mate, Rosie will take care of you all day during your charter. She makes the best Painkillers and a beautiful charcuterie board!

Rosie bought her first sailboat in 2020, lives board and loves the sailing life. Rosie plans to sail around the world solo, so before that happens come aboard with us and you will truly have a great day, with miles of smiles and meet a true Mermaid.
